Rate Intelligence

Know Whether the Rate Is Right Before You Book

Loadwyre's rate scoring module scores each match against an internal lane benchmark so your dispatchers can see market context without switching tools.

Loadwyre's Internal Rate Index

Loadwyre builds a lane-level rate index from anonymized load history across matched transactions. For each lane (origin state + destination state + equipment type), Loadwyre maintains a running rate distribution — updated as loads are matched and booked.

When a match is scored, Loadwyre's rate intelligence module places the carrier's indicated rate band against the current lane distribution. Dispatchers see a simple signal: at market, above market, or below market — relative to Loadwyre's own model.

Important: Loadwyre's rate intelligence module uses Loadwyre's own internal model — built from anonymized transaction data in the Loadwyre system. It does not claim to access or replicate live DAT or Truckstop rate feeds. Results are indicative benchmarks, not guaranteed market prices.

Three Ways Rate Intelligence Improves Margin

Overpaying on tight lanes On capacity-constrained lanes, brokers sometimes accept above-market rates from the first available carrier — without a benchmark to compare against.
Rate signal before you commit Dispatchers see the market-relative signal before confirming a booking. Above-market flags prompt a second look at the match list for a better rate option.
Below-market rates signal capacity stress A carrier willing to move significantly below lane benchmark may indicate they need freight fast — a pickup problem that could delay your load.
Below-market flag for dispatch review Loadwyre flags below-market rates so dispatchers can assess whether the rate difference reflects genuine capacity availability or a carrier in distress.
Margin erosion load by load Without lane-level rate benchmarks, margin per load is invisible until accounting runs the month-end report. By then, the pattern is already established.
Rate trend reporting per lane Loadwyre's reporting module tracks your actual booked rates vs. market benchmark over time, by lane — so operations directors can see margin trends before month end.
