How Loadwyre Handles Your Freight Data
Load data, carrier rate information, and brokerage operational data require careful handling. Here is a plain-language overview of how Loadwyre is built to protect that data — and what we do and don't claim.
Six Controls Built Into the Platform
TLS 1.3 Transport Encryption
All data in transit between your TMS, the Loadwyre API, and the broker dashboard is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Older cipher suites are not negotiated. API endpoints enforce HTTPS; plain HTTP requests are rejected.
AES-256 Storage Encryption
All load data, carrier records, and rate history stored in Loadwyre's database is encrypted at rest using AES-256. Encryption keys are managed separately from data stores. Database backups are encrypted using the same standard.
Role-Based Access Control
Loadwyre uses RBAC to limit data access by user role. Dispatchers see load queues and match results for their assigned lanes. Operations managers see reporting and billing. Carrier rate data is visible only to the users with explicit rate access permissions.
US Data Residency
All Loadwyre infrastructure runs in US-based data centers. Load data, carrier capacity records, and brokerage account data are not stored or processed outside the United States. This applies to backups and failover infrastructure.
Audit Logging
All access to load records, carrier profiles, and rate data is logged with timestamp, user identity, and action type. Logs are immutable and retained for 90 days. Available for export on request for customers conducting internal audits.
SOC 2 Controls in Design
Loadwyre is designed with SOC 2 Type II controls in mind — covering security, availability, and confidentiality. We are a seed-stage company; we have not completed a formal SOC 2 audit at this time. Enterprise customers requiring a formal audit timeline are encouraged to contact us directly.
What We Do With Your Load and Rate Data
Loadwyre processes load data submitted via webhook or manual entry to generate carrier match results. We retain load records to improve match quality for your specific lanes — the more historical load data Loadwyre has for a lane, the more accurate subsequent matches become.
Carrier rate data is handled with particular care. Rates that carriers indicate as acceptable are used within Loadwyre's scoring algorithm and are never surfaced to other carriers or made publicly visible. Rates are aggregated and anonymized for the rate intelligence module — individual carrier rate bands are not disclosed to competing brokers.
